Local Business Coach Seeks to Change Lives & Provide Hope with a Wellness Center

Wellness is often ignored especially for busy professionals like entrepreneurs and business owners. There’s so many things to juggle and do and often wellness takes a back seat. The all too often belief is that there simply are not enough hours to get everything done. However, this does not have to be the case. Victoria Rader author, speaker and founder of YU2Shine  provides coaching services to help busy professionals and people that are looking to fill gaps, achieve success and do it in a healthy way. We had the opportunity to hear from Victoria about her background, her business and her newest project a Wellness Center Start-up.

Tell us a little bit about your background and what led you to start your business?

In 2007, while homeschooling my children, I decided it was a fun idea to take them to Greece to study the ancient Greek history. Indeed, the trip was excellent, but well outside of our means as per our credit card statement after the trip. In hopes to find a “part-time” job to cover the expenses, I got into real estate … just in time for a huge crash and recession. Despite the economy, by 2010, I become one of the top 100 agents in US and Canada, while continuing to homeschool, play competitive tennis, and travel. I would have to contribute my success, in a great degree, to having a real estate coach with Buffini and Company.

With my background in being coached and having taught and/or trained something for most of my life, from Russian language and history to statistics, I started training and coaching first other agents, and then other small business owners. Having found a huge passion in helping others to be, do, and have all they want, I continued on the coaching and training path. It became very clear to me that as human beings we exist on three planes: spiritual, intellectual, and physical. Yet most of the programs I was exposed to focused only on one of the planes: be it energy modalities for the spiritual, new thought patterns and mindsets for the intellectual, or development of new skills through repetitive action for the physical.

I quickly saw the need for a program that would address all three of the planes of human experience. This led me on a journey of becoming a Ph.D. in Metaphysical Studies, a Certified Life Coach and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Master Practitioner, Certified Hypnotherapist and EHT (Emotional Freedom Technique) Practitioner, Certified ThetaHealing Practitioner, Certified Human Behavior Consultant, John Maxwell Team Certified Coach, Speaker, and Trainer. I have started my company YU2SHINE, founded on the principles of a “whole person” approach, where we help you find WHO you are (read my Until You Win book :)), and WHO you were born to be, WHERE you are going in life, WHAT you should do to and mastermind on HOW to get there, and then hold you accountable to your WHENs… and do so without fear or stress.

Tell us about your idea of the wellness center. What do you hope to achieve?

The Wellness Center would provide us with a place for our unique programs that is in an energetically coherent and safe. We will have a small training room, an individual personal training studio, and two coaching rooms. We are raising funds in exchange for services in order to offset the cost to us and thus the cost to our clients.
You’ve mentioned the knowing / doing gap before? What is this and why is it important?

Most people don’t fail because they didn’t know what to do. Most of us know exactly what to do and fail to execute. We know, but we don’t do. Day after day after day. This is not a result of a weak will, but rather a result of the internal conflict between our conscious and subconscious mind. Our coaching model equips the client with skills necessary to bridge that gap, so that they not only know what they should do, but actually do it, over and over again.

What is a whole person approach related to wellness?

Getting your thoughts, your emotions, your actions, and your results all aligned with your purpose.

What advice (especially for busy entrepreneurs and business owners on paying attention to their health?

1. Learn to manage stress.
2. Live from a place of gratitude.
3. Give out what you want to receive back in your life. If you want more money, give out more money. If you want more attention, pay more attention, etc.
4. Focus intently only on what you want, not on what you don’t want. For example, give up on focusing on losing weight and focus on staying fit. While it sounds identical, the two commands are opposites to your subconscious mind.
5. Stop pleasing or policing others and start living your life fully.

Why do you think the DMV (Washington DC, Maryland & Virginia) is a good place to be an entrepreneur or business owner?

Coming from the former Soviet Union, being an entrepreneur is a huge dream come true for me. I am daily grateful for an opportunity to have a business. Because of the diversity of the DMV area, the demands and tastes are also unique and diverse thus allowing for many niches to thrive via meeting specific needs and demands of their clients and customers.

Where do you see the wellness center in the next 3-5 years?

In 3-5 years I see the center as a refuge and a hope center, a place of constant transformation from stress to success … I see us profitable to a point that we are opening a retreat in Montserrat for those who would like to spend a week or two away from their daily challenges.

Anything additional you would like to tell us?

Just a couple of words from our clients…

“Vica managed to take the blocks away from my subconscious and re-programmed it in the way that I actually started believing in myself … my constant unexplained feeling of worry deep inside my mind was substituted with a pleasant feeling of calmness.” – Inna Hymer

“My experience with Vica has not only helped me to achieve my goals, but more importantly, it has enabled me to discover who I am and enjoy life more.”- Cindy Drifmyer
